About Nukoru

A Nottingham-based team that plans and runs business events, from single-room briefings to multi-day conferences with several hundred attendees.

How the company started

Nukoru was set up in 2012 by two former hospitality managers who had spent years coordinating meeting spaces for other people's brands and kept noticing the same gap: nobody was handling the whole event as one job. Venues booked rooms. Caterers handled food. Nobody owned the schedule, the supplier list, or the day-of problem solving.

The first contracts were small — a training day for a local accountancy firm, a product briefing for a manufacturer on the outskirts of the city. Word spread through Nottingham's business community, and the workload grew from occasional bookings into a steady calendar. Fourteen years on, the company has grown to a team of 8, working across 6 districts around Nottingham, and has completed 1,978 jobs for 1,344 clients.

Mission and vision

The mission is straightforward: remove the logistics burden from a client's internal team so that a conference or business gathering runs on schedule without last-minute scrambling. That means one point of contact, one supplier chain managed by us, and one document trail a client can check at any point before the event date.

The longer view is to keep this as a Nottingham-focused operation rather than expand into a national chain. Staying local means the team knows the venues, the parking limitations, the traffic patterns around the city centre, and the suppliers who answer the phone on a Friday afternoon. That local knowledge is difficult to replicate from a head office elsewhere.

Core values

Direct communication

Clients get a single contact who answers within 2 hours of a request, rather than a rotating set of names across departments.

Written accountability

Every booking, supplier order and timing change is logged in a shared document, so nothing depends on memory alone.

Realistic planning

Timelines are built with contingency built in for late deliveries, delayed guests or venue access delays, rather than assuming a perfect run of events.

Questions we get asked

How far in advance should we book?

For conferences with more than 100 attendees, we recommend at least 8 weeks' notice to secure venue dates and catering slots across Nottingham. Smaller briefings and training days can often be arranged with two to three weeks' notice, depending on venue availability.

Do you work with venues outside Nottingham city centre?

Yes. The team covers 6 districts around the city, including sites suited to larger conferences that need more parking or breakout space than a central venue can offer.

Can you take over an event that another organiser has already started planning?

This happens more often than people expect, usually when an internal team runs out of time. We review what has already been booked, flag any gaps, and take over supplier communication from that point forward.

What size of event does the team typically handle?

Past work has ranged from single-room briefings for a dozen people to conferences running across two days with catering, breakout sessions and audio-visual setup for several hundred delegates.
